Organic Cooking Class with Garden Visit by Sinhagiri

2.Organic Cooking Class with Garden Visit by Sinhagiri

★★★★★★★★★★5.0 · 65 reviews · from $28

At Green Hut Nature Resort in Sigiriya, you will pick vegetables from an organic garden, then cook a Sri Lankan rice-and-curry meal with an experienced local housewife. The three-hour class starts at 4:00 pm, serves up to five people, and ends with you eating what you prepared. A fresh mango juice may start the visit.

“It is a very nice experience to cook with a local who knows Sri-Lankan cooking, especially when you like the food. It's a great traditional kitchen and everything is clean and wel prepared. The tour through the garden is a bit thin since the garden was not really wel kept jet. I would absolutely recommend the course although its a bit expensive.”

Transport, entrance tickets, pickup, and drop-off are included, though the spice garden stop may vary.

“The main experience at the elephant sanctuary was incredible but I'll caveat my experience with a few notes. Pick up bang on time and an excellent driver. I shared my trip with 2 others who were staying out the way; I found out that the paid much more than I did which is what it is but did mean the trip from Colombo was done on back roads and my travel time was extended to over 6 hours. We didn't visit the spice garden nor was it offered. Felt like we had to get back due to the extra travel time. As expected with these places the guards will charge/ask…”
